Official Rules

1. No purchase necessary

You do not need to buy a Premium membership to play or to win. A free entry path is available through Instagram (see Section 4). Premium membership provides earlier and bonus clues but does not increase your legal odds of winning any single hunt where a free path is offered.

2. Eligibility

• You must be 18 years or older to claim a prize.
• You must be physically present in or around Raleigh, NC to participate in a hunt.
• Employees, contractors, and their immediate family members are not eligible to win.
• Void where prohibited by law.

3. Entry deadlines & hunt timing

• Each hunt has a scheduled start time and end time shown on the hunt page. Claims submitted before the start or after the end are not valid.
• A hunt closes immediately when the prize is claimed and verified, even if the posted end time has not passed.
• Premium members may receive clues earlier than the public. Public clues are released at the times listed on the hunt page.
• To claim a prize, you must find the hidden cash and scan the winning QR code placed with it. Each hunt has a unique QR code that verifies the win through the app.
• Winner verification is instant when the QR code scan is confirmed. If a code is invalid, already used, or scanned by a non-eligible account, the claim is rejected and the hunt continues until a valid winner is verified or the end time passes.

4. Free entry path via Instagram

You can play every public hunt for free by following @cashdashraleigh on Instagram. Here is how it works:

• For every public hunt, the same location clues released inside the app are also posted to the @cashdashraleigh Instagram feed and/or stories.
• Instagram clues are posted at the public release time. Premium members may see clues earlier in-app, but the winning location is the same for everyone.
• To win via the free path, create a free Cash Dash Raleigh account, go to the location, and scan the winning QR code through the app like any other player. You do not need a Premium subscription to scan a valid winning code.
• Following on Instagram is not required to win — it is simply the free way to receive clues without a Premium membership.
• Standard Instagram terms apply. Instagram is not a sponsor of Cash Dash Raleigh.

5. QR code winner verification

Each hunt has a unique QR code that is printed and hidden with the cash prize. The first eligible player to find the cash and scan the code with the app is verified as the winner.

• A valid QR code scan confirms you are physically at the prize location and in possession of the winnings.
• Winner verification agreement. Before purchasing a Premium membership or redeeming a winning QR code, you must agree that scanning a winning code confirms you actually found and received the cash winnings. False claims may result in forfeiture of prizes and account suspension.
• QR codes can only be used once. If a code is scanned by a non-Premium or ineligible account, it will not be redeemed.
• Only one valid redemption per hunt. Duplicate or fraudulent scans are rejected.
• Prizes are paid in USD. Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes and may be required to complete a tax form (e.g. IRS Form W-9) before payment.

6. Staying safe on the hunt

Cash is fun. Getting hurt is not. Please follow these safety rules — participation is at your own risk.

• Obey all traffic laws. Do not use the app while driving. Pull over and park before checking clues, the map, or scanning a QR code.
• No trespassing. Prizes are only ever hidden on public property or with the property owner's permission. If a clue seems to point somewhere private, you are in the wrong spot.
• Respect the space. Do not damage property, dig, climb fences, enter construction sites, or disturb landscaping. Prizes are never buried or hidden inside anything that would require damage to retrieve.
• Be aware of your surroundings. Watch for traffic, other people, and your footing — especially at night or in unfamiliar neighborhoods.
• Bring a buddy when possible, especially for evening or late-night hunts.
• Do not race. Running into streets, parking lots, or crowds is not worth the prize. Any claim involving unsafe behavior may be disqualified.
• Follow local laws and posted rules. Park legally, respect park hours, and leave the area cleaner than you found it.

7. Disqualification

We reserve the right to disqualify any participant who violates these rules, tampers with the app, submits fraudulent QR code scans, harasses other players, or engages in unsafe or illegal behavior during a hunt.
